September Is Attendance Awareness Month
Missing just two days of school a month in PreK and Kindergarten can make it harder for kids to read proficiently by 3rd grade. A student who is chronically absent in high school is 7.4x more likely to drop out.
Attendance data isn't just about counting missed days—it's about spotting warning signs early so schools and families can step in before absences add up.
Every day a student is in school is an opportunity to learn, build relationships, and access support. Consistent school attendance is one of the most powerful predictors of student success. Let’s work together to build good attendance habits early so our students are ready for tomorrow! Learn more: https://awareness.attendanceworks.org/

Attendance Matters: When Should Your Child Stay Home? Being in class every day is one of the most powerful ways to support your child’s learning and success. We want to see our students in school as much as possible! It’s common for children to wake up with mild sniffles, a slight headache, or just feeling a little tired. Unless your child has a fever of 100+, vomiting, diarrhea, rash, or eye discharge, please encourage them to come to school! If they start feeling worse during the day, our school nurse will evaluate them and contact you if needed.
